Happy New Year From Standing Space!

January 2021

Interior Designer

2020 was an uncertain time with lots of unknowns

Standing Space powered through the year helping large and local clients to design spaces that were not only aesthetically pleasing, but also in line with COVID-19 policies and new ways of working.

Although we got through 2020 with many positive memories to reflect on, it wasn’t always easy. As a business that relies heavily on face to face communication and design consultation with team members, the combination of working in the office and then having to work from home or not being able to meet on site with clients proved difficult on some occasions.

Tips that Standing Space find useful whilst working from home

  • Frequent Facetime calls with employees not only to discuss work, but to maintain the office culture whist working from home

  • It’s ok to say ‘NO’ to client meetings during these difficult times.

  • Weekly updates on how the busines is doing so that employees can stay in the loop and have a sense of security

  • Seize online opportunities. A chance to become more active on social media and communicate with a wider audience

  • Plan for the future by reflecting on missed opportunities and building skills that can help with the year ahead
