Project Overview

Bents is a well-known Garden Centre that attracts visitors from all over the region. Standing Space was chosen to design and manage the interior fit-out of Bents' new office. The office is located on the first floor of their newly constructed extension and covers an area of approximately 10,000 sq. ft. The remaining part of the first floor is planned to be used in later phases of the centre's development. The office space features a central area with a vaulted ceiling that is 7.5 meters high.

The fit-out included the construction of showers, toilets, a fully equipped commercial kitchen, a staff dining room, and meeting rooms. An open-plan office was created with stand-alone meeting cabins and tea points. The roof of the office is made of exposed profiled steel cladding, beneath which A/C services and linear LED lighting in rectangular arrangements were installed.

The standout feature of the office is a central timber pergola adorned with suspended looped colored fabrics. This feature defines the circulation areas and creates an atmosphere reminiscent of a Moroccan market.

Building History

The building is part of an established large destination garden centre. The project was to create new office space on the 1st floor of the recently constructed 2 story retail hall extension.
